If you are trying to hide from God and you have some angel nt only calling you out, but also tempting you to do worse, well, you're gonna label him an eveil jackass.
I especially like how this professor points out the difference b/t the Serpent and the Devil. That was apparent to me the first time I read Genesis. Just another reason I loathe how the canoical Bible was thrown together so willy nilly and arbitrarily.

It's not necessarily what you Should do, but here are the things in your head, your jutsifications. I'm Just saying them to you, out loud." In that way, people can blame Satan (Which is a Title) for "making" them do something they "never wanted to do".
People like to shift blame, and there's a reason it's called a "Scapegoat."
