I'm in a van, and we're travelling across the country, looking for tiny Museums, with portraits of gods and spirits, looking for the representationis of ourselves. It's me, Jack Frost, some woman named Muriel, King Mob, in the background, and an older Marv, from the Five Swell Guys, in Promethea. We've been in the van for days, traveling around the country and the world, and we find a small museum, somewhere I've been before, and the layout is a combination of all the sectoins of Horizon's and the old Capital Children's Museum all smushed together, really small, about the size of my living room. There are sand-paintings and tapestries on the walls, as well as small peices of jewelry. It feels, in part, like that underground club I found, in dream, a long time ago. Everyone has a room. Everyone has a place, in this place, that holds representations of them, through the years. I'm staring at raven repesentations from cultures that didn't have ravens, so far as history knows, and seeing the destruction of the world, woven in dark and bright lines of thread. Jack comes in to tell me that Muriel and Marv have bolted. We have to find them, so we run out of the museum, through the school, where we find Younger Jack, or younger Me, teaching a class of children, telling them that everything they know is a lie, and completely true. That, if they want a phone call, they have to keep questioning the material that they are given. We group back together, and head out.

We're behind the building, and there are loading docks, but it's a house, like someoen living out a storage space. I know that [livejournal.com profile] mech_angel is around, but I don't know precisely where. Bruce Banner is here, and he's trying to remain calm, and not get pissed at Marv. He's trying not retain control over the Hulk. I know, in my head, that Detective Crowley, from
King Rat is in the museum we just left, and that he's being played by Harvey Keitel. We have to find Marv and Muriel. Their helth is of key importance.

I'm walking with [livejournal.com profile] greygirlbeast, through some part of either New Orleans, or a small town, in the North Georgia mountains, surrounded by trees, or both. Apparently, she's misplaced Spooky, and we have to find her. The forest, here, is swamp forest, but much cooler than swamp tends to be. In one of the bars, near the outskirts of town, we find [livejournal.com profile] rubberdux, sitting at the bar, with her music playing, as if she's singing, but it's her, singing to herself, in a totally non-narcissistic way, but more sad, like the bar had done something to separate her from herself.

Something sexual, in there, in terms of sensations of hands or limbs on bodies, feelings corporeal movements.

All of the things and people to and about whom I've been talking, all swirling together, last night, seeds growing themselves....

It's my birthday, tomorrow.

I'm going to the Vortex in Little Five, and I don't expect you to come, on such sort notice, really. But if you'd like to, we'll be there at roughly 9.30. Just ask someone where I am, and it'll probably be the patio.

Later.

Ben Folds Five - [Smoke]--- Oh, and I'll probably be reading Jung and MiƩville, all day, to finish up, and get in gear.

Do you know about how Grant Morrison got so magickally involved with The Invisibles, in terms of putting himself in as King Mob, that stuff that happened to Mob would happen to him?
Also, which China MiƩville book?

I thought I remebered reading something like that, about when Alan Moore was writing John Constantine, but I hadn't heard that the same thing was done by/to Morrison, no.

And I'm finishing up my second time through King Rat.

DRE:
I read that sometimes you would write about stuff in The Invisibles then it would actually happen.
GM:
I got so enmeshed in it that I was producing holographic voodoo effects and found that I could make stuff happen just by writing about it. At the conclusion of volume one, I put the King Mob character in a situation where he was being tortured and he gets told that his face is being eaten away by bacteria and within a few months my own face was being eaten away by infection. I still have the scar. It's a pretty cool scar to but at the time it was really distressing. Then I had the character dying and within a few months, there I was dying in the hospital of blood poisoning and staph aureus infection. As I lay dying, I wrote my character out of trouble and somehow survived. I used the text as medicine to get myself out of trouble. Writing became a way of keeping myself alive.

As soon as I was out of hospital I made sure my character had a good time and got a laid a lot and within months I was having the time of my life.
