List five songs that you are currently digging. It doesn't matter what genre they are from, whether they have words or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying right now.

Then tag five people to do the same.

1. Mindless Self Indulgence - [You'll Rebel to Anything (As Long as It's Not Challenging)]
2. Warren Zevon - [Transverse City]
3. Ben Folds Five - [Smoke]
4. Mindless Self Indulgence - [Stupid MF]
5. Warren Zevon - [They Moved the Moon]

Warren Zevon - [Run Straight Down]--- There. Another long, boring day, today. Keep in mind, when i say "long," it has nothing to do with linear time, and everything to do with mental and personal relativity. Times of the day are proportionally faster or slower, in relation to the speed at which the individual is travelling. (The Servant - [Cells]). The more i'm doing, the faster my day moves. You know how this works.

I've been thinking about magic (or howeverthefuck the individual chooses to *ahem* spell it), a lot lately. Not just "magic," whatever that means, but about perceptual reality, as a whole. John Constantine, written by Brian Azzarello, once said that "I've heard it said that nine-tenths of reality is perception. In my trade, it's eleven-tenths. If I can't completely change your idea of what's real, well then, the trick doesn't Work." (Ben Folds Five - [Mitchell Lane]). I find that to be more and more true, lately. Not so much in the "Forcing My Perceptions On You," so much as the "Cracking Open Your Skull And Letting The Sun Shine In." For me, it's about creating an awareness of possibilities, and options. You know this. I repeat myself.

I don't ever want to talk down to you. (Mindless Self Indulgence - [Straight to Video]). I want to talk across, and near, and whisper secrets in your ear, but i never, ever want to seriously talk down to you. You are not children, most of you. You are capable of seeing, creating, doing, experiencing, devouring wonderful things. Your lives have whatever worth and whatever legion you give them. You are in control of the transcendent aspects of your nature, and you are, in large part, who you choose to be. You are capable human beings, and you are more than powerful enoug to do whatever the fuck it is you want you do. Maybe you haven't found the Tools yet. Make them. Maybe you don't know how. Learn How. Maybe you don't even know what the fuck it is you want to do. Wander, and Figure it Out.

Static-X - [Otsegolectric]--- If i call you "Kids," or "Children," it's not because I think of you that way, in anything other than an ironic sense. I just want you to open your eyes. Just wake up, a little bit... Just enough to get in the car...

Tom Waits - [Downtown Train]--- Perception and observation are dangerous things. They change things, and they rework how the world works, in large enough groupings. Or powerful enough. If you know where and how to place the lever of your will, in the world, you can move many, many things. It's not something that anyone does the same as anyone else. Clearing your mind, focusing, intently, learning everything, going in blind, it doesn't matter how you do it, or what you do. It matters that you engage the world, or don't, in the way that is as befitting your self, as possible. Or as ill-fitting... Integrity is all we have, when it comes down to it. We can only be as much of ourselves, and, carve, blast, burn out, and fill our space in the world, as appropriately as possible.

Ben Folds Five - [Steven's Last Night in Town]--- I'm rambling a bit, but it comes down to this: You put the pieces together, right? In whatever it is that you do, however you do it, you bring things together, take them apart, change them, and you either enact, or inhibit communication, of one sort, or another. You talk, work, chant, write, draw on tables in salt or graphite or paint or whatever. Everything you do relieves a pressure, somewhere; you have let something loose, turned a valve, and the build-up is let off. (RazorBladeKisses - [No Strings Attached]). Everything you do impacts the world, somewhere, somehow.

Entanglement, interconnection, gravitational force, ideas, intention, dark matter, quanta, perceptual states. Everything you do touches every thing else, every motion on the board defines another set of moves. You have the ability to accept, know, change, be yourself, fully, whatever those things mean for you. And they are not all connected, always, except in that way that they are. But you can do one, or some, without doing the others, on all levels, in ways that you mean.

Ben Folds Five - [Battle of Who Could Care Less]--- I believe that today's word was "Spelling."

You'll forgive me, if I repeat myself.

Prr. Believe me, love, I don't take to being talked down to, and if you did it, of all people, I'd probably grab you by the collar and Tell or Show you that.

You've probably been thinking about that a lot lately because I'm on another find-new-Working-stuff kick and Searching. It gets harder and harder every time I get the bug, because it's harder to find something new, or to think of new things to try, and I'm sorry if I've been obsessive or simply repetitive with my fixations...

And it's always about cracking heads open. Poking the third eye til you know it's there. I have less...tendencies towards being vocal about things than you do, so it's really example and creative warping of reality for me. But it's easy to forget that you affect anything, easy to watch your shit get lost in the general shuffle of things. Hence my constant search. When ways of operating get too comfortable, and I get lazy, I need something new to get that feeling of 'Yeah, I CAN do this.' back.

It's not Just you, love, but you're a big part. Everything around me has been pointing in the directions of Work and Perception. People, books, trends of conversation. Everything.

I simply tend to worry that the reason no one's listening, or doing anything, or talking back (those that aren't doing those things, i mean), is because i'm not saying anything they haven't heard before.

I like this post alot, thanks for sharing...I have been considering similar things myself (for as long as I can remember pretty much, on various levels). I am currently reading a fascinating book on shamanism/ancient tribes & anthropology/science versus spiritual knowledge and the use of hallucinogenic/healing plants (looking at South American Tribes mostly). Taking all the realms of reality into serious consideration, I strongly believe reality is what you make it...Another subject I could ramble on about for hours....

I'm glad you enjoyed this post. It took a lot out of me. I keep throwing things out there, and hoping they get heard, appreciated, whatever, and they usually are, at least a very little bit. But there are some deafening silences, in there, sometimes.

Reality is mostly perception, but there are the questions of other beings. We've come to far to fall back into Solipsistic thinkings, you know? There are more perceptions,a nd what we all perceive and agree upon is what we call real. Therefore, different things have different degrees of reality.

"Reality is that which everyone agrees Is Real. What everyone agrees is NOT real, does not exist." - From "Treasury Wizards," The Android Sisters, from "Ruby, The Adventures of a Galactic Gumshoe"

But that means Everyone, not just everyone you know. Everyone. That's some difficult shit.
