wolven7Carmina Burana - [O Fortuna-Fortune Plango Vulnera]--- I had a wealth of wonderful conversations, today, luckily, while down on campus. I had a conversation with someone about the nature of infinity, and the logico-mathematical proveability of something that could be termed "God." I talked to her, about this, and started to gather a group of people and she listened. Then i found out that she was even less new than i'd known, with her being introduced to me, by friends of mine. drstrangeal's friend, from High School. That was certainly interesting, and i liked the way that she listened... (A Perfect Circle - [The Hollow (The Bunk Remix)]). Trying to understand as much as possible, in conversation, before trying to add anything. So, there's a potential source of learning, and ideas...
In that same vein, i had a short discussion, wtih Seven, today, about some of the ideas he has about life, and the nature of reality. He showed me some of his writings, on the subject, and is slowly starting to see that connection and interweaving of ideas, there. He's very glad of someone to talk to, about these things. I think what surprised him was how unabashed i am about talking about my beliefs, on the subject. (German Military - [Panzer Lied]). I'll discuss my feelings and thoughts, loudly, with anyone willing to listen. And by willing i mean "They SAid Something, And I Decided To Rant." ^_^ I have no qualms, in that respect, whatsoever, these days, because, luckily, i've met with more profitable discourse that stagnant closed-mindedness.
Duke Ellington & John Coltrane - [Stevie]--- In the nature of "Weaving," and prophecy, and understanding webs and patterns of the future, i've had a few thoughts, today. Firstly, i had someone tell me that they thought divinination of the future was bullshit, to which my eyes went very wide. He left, before i could talk to him about it, though. As you all know, i, to the same degree as anything else, count myself as Believing in Divination. I think that, if you're going to take note of a causal reality, and ascribe yourself as living in said, then Divination is a simple matter. But it is never a definate thing. It is a complicated interweaving of simple probabilities. (Nine Inch Nails - [The Becoming]). If you have the understanding of certain pertinent informations, then you have the ability to extrapolate the interconnections, there, with everything around it. It is a matter of constant observation, perception, and calculation. Knowing the probabilites, and the possibilities. And, in the end, you still don't get the whole picture. Not quite. There are patches, where the branching is too much, and it obscures the pattern, the path. They interconnect, and they switchback into near infinite loops, and the teasing apart is something that can only be done, by Making Choices, As They Need To Be Made. And there's something to be said for that. REmember what i said, last night about the pattern, and the threads, and focuses. They are also very mutable, within their contexts.
The future is not set, but i'm done talking about this from that angle. People talk about "self-fulfilling prophecies," as if there were any other kind. (Voltaire - [See You In Hell]). You tell people that something will happen, and the manner in which you tell it, the stresses you place on certain words, the slant you give it, will all register, in their minds. They will, one way another, work toward that thing. It will affect them, in a fundamental way-- it's in their thoughts-- and something, somewhere, relating to that will come about, due to their actions. Intensity of said is based on belief of the recipient, and the persuasiveness of the Prophet. The persuasiveness of the Prophet is drectly linked to the provability of his or her information, and the probability of it. Had Oedipus' father and mother thought the whole thing through, they would have handled the knife, themselves. (Cake - 05 [Daria]).The pattern and probability are always there, the question is, how prevalent are they?
There is a... repugnance, associated with planning for prophecy. Laying plans, in wait, and fulfilling those aspects of the plan. Why should this be disparaged? We plan for our days ahead, so why not our Nodes of change, and sweeping future. The difference is in amount of information Handled. (Ace Of Base - [Happy Nation]). Patterns emerge in the macro and micro, levels, and what seems like chaos, from either perspective, is simply a pattern to which we may not yet be attuned. The reverse is also true.
Even in walking without rhythm, your rhythmlessness will develop a pattern. As the worm turns. ^_^
