When i was working in DC.
Jan. 18th, 2004 03:54 pmWhen i was in DC, over the summer, i was working with this older guy. He saw, one day, that i was reading "Gödel, Escher, Bach," and he picked up the book, and started flipping through it. He came upon the "BlooP, FlooP, and GlooP" chapter, and made note that those were programming languages, from the seventies. MAde a brief mention of AI. He then went back to acting as if he was tryiong to gain praise and attention, while being slightly inept. That was how he was known, around the office. Helpful, but not very useful. Which was bullshit. He knew exactly what he was doing.
And he was really annoying, in that persona, too. He damn near never broke character, except for that time, with the programming languages.
Or maybe he was an inept, with a bit of knowledge about programming. And AI.
Something i remembered, while reading the latest bits of "Gödel, Escher, Bach."
Later.
