"Big Fish" was... It was amazing. I Heart Symbolism, and my heart was done well, this evening. The point of the film is the very Essence of Story. Those of you familiar with my rants on the subject of Story and the nature of Truth, within Story, will understand. I'll say no more... I'm awe-struck.

Go see this film. Tim Burton and Danny Elfman have, in my eyes, Out-shone the grand majority of their recent work, and... Yes.

{This is a good day to listen to others, WOLVEN. They might be discussing something that could prove important. You could hear some juicy gossip about some important changes coming up in your professional environment. Try to think like a spy today. Go into observer mode and be a silent witness to things that are happening. You could gather some useful data along the way!

Interesting concept, that.}

YES. Story Is. And very much a tearjerker...Both in areas of Truth, and certain parallels in my own reality.

I'm beginning not to be surprised by certain things anymore.

I'm glad to see someone on my flist's take on the movie, because the one review I've read of it so far whined about how it wasn't very good or complete and the reviewer seemed to think that Mr Burton was just slacking off and making a movie for money because he knew fans would buy it, and that Frankenweenie was better (!).

Somehow, I doubted that, and it's nice to see my suspicions that the reviewer was wrong confirmed from at least one direction. Methinks the reviewer possibly didn't Get It.

I think it's very possible that many people won't "Get" it. And that's unfortunate. It's also very possible that people will get many vastly different things From it. And that's ok... But there are, as said, layers and levels of symbols and meaning, and not allof it is simply Handed to you, at the end. You have to think and feel about it, for yourself.
