The Stranglers - [Golden Brown]--- MY classes are going to be very useful. The material is all... Hmm. Material. Mater. Mother. Anyway. The material is all presented in a way with which i can most certainly agree, even if my History Teacher is slightly hackle-raising. (kidneythieves - [Before I'm Dead]). The Brit Lit is awesome, and we covered Beowulf, today. I got to talk to my professor and recommened Threshold to her, and talk about the meanings of Liminality, and Interstitiality, during class. She brought it up. I swear.
The other classes are Zen and Shinto and World Religions. They are with teachers i both know and like. They are areas in which, while i know Something, i can definately learn More. (Placebo - [Sleeping With Ghosts). I really relish the opportunity to learn more about Shinto, because it's one of the few religions about which i know next to nothing. So that will definately be a treat. I learned, today, in World Religions, that there are over 21 thousand denominations of recognised Christiantiy, in the United States, today. Take that as either a good thing, or a bad thing, as you wish. I going to enjoy having all of the texts that i require, save, perhaps, one, on my shelves, as my own. They are wonderful... I'm going to need another book case, soon...
On a nearly completely different note, I received the first "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" trade paper back, today, for a present. (Siouxsie & The Banshees - [Dear Prudence]). It was Awesome. I know have two reciprocal presents, left to buy, and i'm pretty sure i know what they'll be. Hooray.
As i'm sure you can tell, i'm in a far better mood than i was, this morning, and i attribute that to the fact that in all of my classes, save the History, there is someone i know, fairly well. This kind of thing, generally, makes me rather happy. That, along with the fact that i get a fairly expensive text, for free, and the fact that the first day of classes went exceptionally well...Well, i'm very pleased. Off to watch some Myth-Busters, as i've been told i have to, due to the nature of the myth.
Later, all
