LUXT - [Spite]--- I know that a lot of people didn't go to con, and a lot of people did. So why are people bragging/implying that whichever they did was better? I liked my con experience. Other people liked whatever they did. I'm glad, if you had other fun, this weekend. Let me relish mine.

Jeesus H. Christoms.

{And no, i'm not saying that everyone is doing this. Ii'm saying that a Large number of people see to be, and it's aggrivating the hell out of me. I really don't like oneupmanship. *shrug*}

Does "relish" mean yelling into the phone " You guys suck for not going to Dragon Con?"
Fucking hypocrite

people do this when they feel like they have been left out of something, it is a way fo justifying to themselves they made the right decision to do whatever they did instead.

Beard made that kind of comment, and i heartily agreed. And i did not hold raoin's hand and tell her that i'm sure her con experience was very fulfilling because i did not imagine she needs that kind of babying. I think we are cool on that between us.

Dood, Beard said what he did, and i agreed, in the implication that WE both DEFINATELY had more fun than either of us would have at Dragon*Con. I think we were both speaking for and about ourselves. It's not meant to "one up" anybody. Heed your own advice and realise that our journals are not written for you, or even necessarily with you or anyone else in mind. That particular comment was (if i may offer my interpretation in Beard's place) written to and as a compliment for everyone who attended. IF his fun in any decimates yours, i am very sorry. If not, then what is your issue?

(On a more personal note, the man was a 24-year-old Episcopalian virgin. Let the poor thing brag if he wants to. Everyone should get some King of the Mountain time their first time, especially when it's taken that long to get there.)

i may have flown off the handle a bit. You may not have been referring to Beard. But he -was- bragging...and i thought it was cute. And you know how i jump on people over him...

anyway, if that's not what you were talking about, i'm sorry. What are you doing this weekend?

It's the "way better than" factor, without any "for me," added, so it's simply a statement of superiority.

And Homework things, most likely. got a paper due on monday. i don't know that that will take All weekend, though.

That's precisely my point: It never occurred to me to add the "for me" qualifier, because it was me i was talking about, after all. Not you. For me, it was FAR superior.
