White Zombie - [Blood, Milk and Sky]--- i talked about this, today in class. Talking about OEdipus Rex, and last wek i raised the comment about how it was so surreal in bits that it go to the point where it seemed like a horrible nytemare, by the end, only he couldn't wake up. i realised, because of this, that there were lots and lots of things, in daily life that had this very same effect. This lead me to doing a presentation, involving the above quote, and the poem "Tale," by Ger Killeen.

Now you may be wondering what the hell the point of all this may be, and i'll tell you: Dreams and nytemares, being In them and waking From them, are not that big of a deal. What matters, when dealing with dreams, is what you Take from the situation. What did the dream teach you? And all dreams teach something. i don't care if it's the most assinine dream about cake monsters trying to eat your soul, if you can't find a meaning, there, you aren't looking, at all. Dreams are teachers. Nytemares moreso.

White Zombie - [Electric Head: The Agony]--- When it is said, above, that it is best to view the world as a dream, what i take from that is that one should find lessons in it all, and realise that This Is Not It. There are more places to go, after this, and death is only another form of sleep and waking. Away from that, though, there is the matter of surreality.

Many things in the world make shit look strange. "Coincidences," synchronicities, sudden death. i went through a period, a few years ago, where i stayed in bed for three or four days, straight, hoping that i would wake up, and everything before had been a dream. Eventually, essentially, this happened. Not in the way i was looking for, but it happened. (White Zombie - [Super-Charger Heaven]) There are a great many things that do this, in our lives, and they aren't that hard to find. September 11th, for instance.

White Zombie - [Real Solution #9]--- For days and weeks after that happened, i was talking to people who were wandering around in a fucked up haze, talking about how it couldn't be real, cause this shit simply didn't happen to Us. Well kids, we're all somebody else to somebody else. But i digress. What to do, with dreamlike states: Wake up. Remember. Learn from it. It's really the best anyone can do.

White Zombie [Creature of the Wheel]

"You can believe what I say
is true by the way
my own shadow hunkers
closer to the fire, nodding as if
there are a thousand stories
to prove such things are always happening."
-"Tale," Ger Killeen
