So many Parties, So many Ends of the World

ext_325066's birthday, last night, and that was pretty glorious. (Jarboe - [Feral Blixa (w/ Blixa Bargeld)]). Lot's of people I've not seen in many years. Two weeks ago was Jennie's birthday, and that was fantastic, and on the same night as Mimi's baby shower/engagement party. Old friends and new. Interconnections, right?
There's a current in the air right now, because of all the 2012 Hullabaloo. It's weird, but it's causing me to have apocalypse dreams. It gets right down deep into the collective unconscious, and braids itself together out of a bunch on crazy shit.
You know we haven't had an apocalypse this present on people's minds since Y2K? That was a human-devised apocalypse, though. It wasn't "Prophesied By The Gods" or whatever. Well. At least not gods who'd been gods for long enough for people to do any more than kind of freak out about what they say, rather than actually, you know, doing something with it. (Childish Gambino - Real Estate (ft. Alley Boy, Swank, and Tina Fey) {prod. Childish Gambino}). Think about what we do when we let an idea, a supposition, a Fact Of The Matter seep into our unconscious over a ridiculously long period of time. We call numbers dates and dates become Dates, and that importance is all over the thing itself, and we just start to... not even "believe" or "know" it. It simply is.
So the whole "apocalypse" and "end of the age" thing sits in the backs of our minds, even as we laugh at it, and it colours the way we talk to each other, even as we dismiss it, and it shapes the frame of reference for everything we're doing in this last month of the year, even as we plan beyond it. (The Canadian Brass - [All You Need Is Love]). So we shuffle and slouch toward this basic, fundamental Idea, right? This new paradigm, new consciousness thinking, and 21 December 2012 is just a catalyst, just the little marker we need to actually start thinking different, just a little tag that says, "Hey, here's a Push," even if it's only us pushing ourselves.
Queen - [Bicycle Race]--- The stars line up, or the galaxies and the black holes, or the snake gods return, or magic, or the great ghost dance, or the great Quetzlcoatl returning, or the world of Fourth Sun will being extinguished, or the completion of the Kali Yuga, or the awakening of the Kami to cleanse the first place, or the return of Mithra or Fimbulvinter falling, or the New Year, or our birthdays, or whatever whatever whatever. And it's all the same thing. It's all just a symbol for "Now We Are Different. We are New. Everything Changes Now." And the more people who think that, right? The more people who seriously feel somewhere in the deep down underneath of everything they are that This Is Different, then the more likely we are to Do Different Things-- to think and feel and Act in a different manner.
The Legendary Pink Dots - [No Matter What You Do]--- Magic is really simple. Zen is really simple. The Apocalypse is really simple. It's simple because you Just Are It. It's deceptive, right? It can't be that straightforward. It can't be that blasé, but there it is. Just exist, experience, do with everything that you are, and there you are. Think and feel and know and "immanentize the eschaton" is just a thing to say to put your head where it needs to be. Once you've done it, once the apocalypse is right here, right now, every. Single. Moment? Then you don't need to remind yourself with dates and names, anymore, do you? Because the fire is always burning, the flames are always highest. Because they're always you.
The fire has always been you.
