"Everyone has things they blog about. Everyone has things they don't blog about. Challenge me out of my comfort zone by telling me something I don't blog about, but you'd like to hear about, and I'll write a post about it."

If you can't think of anything to ask me about, just post it on your own blog.

So Terp, [livejournal.com profile] unknownbinaries, and [livejournal.com profile] scamort were right, and I AM a golden god, after all.

Headlight socket replaced, headlight functional.

Tools used: Three pairs of pliers, one knife, one scalpel, my hands, and my brain.

Total cost of repair: $25.

The hardest part this time was making sure the crimping connectors were properly crimped, because all I had were three different sets of pliers.

Now let's just hope I can get the ticket wiped, because I fixed it.

‎Who wants to buy a Red, 2-Door '97 Honda Accord LX SE with MASSIVE problems? When I say "Massive," I mean:

-Broken driver's side window (may just be a busted motor, or extremely slipped track)

-Needs new catalytic converter and O2 sensor

-Needs new distributor (or at least inner seal, but probably the whole thing); cap and cap seal are new to 2 years.

-Radio functions, but CD player doesn't work, unless you put in a copy of the Pixies' 'Surfer Rosa.' No, I'm not kidding.

-Some form of coolant leak, which is both voluminous and unpredictable, and the source of which is as-yet-undetermined.
--Details: Can be driven for a very long time with no problems and a full coolant system, but suddenly and unpredictably will start running hot, eventually overheating. When you put the brakes on and come to a full stop after distance highway driving (Not before), it will often dump all of its coolant onto the ground.

Every diagnosis of potential low-level issues I've received for this problem has been wrong, which means there's probably a major crack somewhere hard to get at, which expands as the car heats, and then dumps/sprays the coolant, when the car is brought to a stop. That indicates a whole-system problem.

-Could probably use new brakes on the front passenger side

-Frame damage on driver's side door panel from someone backing into me, after which they skipped town on their insurance, which company then refused payment.
--The door doesn't sit Quiet right, and you have to slam it, but it'll stay closed, especially when locked.

-Loose, though not in any way detached, front and rear bumper

-Could probably use some detailing to get rid of the mildew/mould/smell (these are not Known, but suspected) subsequent to having sat fallow for several months.

-The Battery isn't holding a charge. Possible alternator issues.

Unsurprisingly, Kelley Blue Book classifies this as "poor" condition.

On the plus side, you would get: A set of jumper cables; an external battery charger; the owner's manual; a Haynes manual; a set of socket wrenches; some spare head-, brake-, and taillight blubs; whatever bumper stickers I can't peel off (there are some good ones :\ ); and all the parts you can salvage from the thing.

That's everything. $1500 or best offer. Any takers?

As much as I bitch about it, I will be sad to see it go. It lasted a good 6.5 years, before it crapped out, hard.
