Epistemology Today
Jan. 24th, 2012 09:10 pmToday I taught my class about: David Hume; his argument against believing in Miracles; strong agnosticism; skepticism; precognition; backwards causation; perception; Derren Brown; Source Code, Donnie Darko, and Primer; Plato's "Justified True Belief;" The Brain in a Vat; and The Matrix.
Nearly my entire Tuesday/Thursday class has seen The Matrix, and they asked lots and lots of questions, raising many interesting points. I am very glad.
Now, Trivia, after which, home and bed, as I have work in the morning.
[ETA: Also spent some time on the difference between Agnosticism and Atheism, which I didn't think I'd have to do, but relished doing.]
