A couple of notes on an Apocalypse
May. 21st, 2011 11:42 am1) Today is May 21, and so I'd just like to take a moment to remind you that the Biblical verses on which the idea of "The Rapture" is based (Revelation 7:4-8) says that only 144,000 people, all stemming from the 12 tribes descended directly from David will be 'ported out early.
That being said, even if you are a member of one of said 12 Tribes, then you are still just one person in a field of way more than 12,000.
So how's your genealogy and how's your luck?
2) Just because today might not be the start of the Apocalypse doesn't necessitate that we start shitting on people's conceptions of Deity. There's a difference between demanding that someone maintain an internally consistent position (that is reading the fucking book you claim to believe) and just being a dick about it.
What I'm saying is, the strawman of "Invisible Skydaddy" is starting to get a little tired, so if you just want to be a dick about it? Just say so.
Just say so.
