Last night's Android Lust show was phenomenal. The light show component was very interesting, and added a strange new combination of visceral mental elements to those which already existed in the music, itself. It was the first time I'd ever heard Shikhee with her full touring band, and it was a very intense experience. Bass lines, drums, guitar, keyboards, all with the vocals, all... just so perfect. "Dragonfly," live, was an experience I'll not soon forget.

Picked up the new album, The Human Animal, and am still in the process of listening to it. Longer review, when I get a feel for it.

The opening band was a group called Mankind Is Obsolete, and they rocked a kind of Female-Vocalist-90's-grunge-inspired-industrial-rock-thing. Think kidneythieves meets Soundgarden meets Nine Inch Nails meets White Zombie, and you're part of the way there. Really interesting stuff, and the lead singer owned the stage, when she was on it. Great worrk, from them.

The venue was fun. I'd never ben to The Shelter, before, but they had a nice little space. Bar, pool tables, dance floor, and DJ booth. Fun little space, and I got to see a bunch of people I'd not seen, in some time. So that was awesome.

I danced more than I have, in ages. All told, it was a great night.

Last night, I dreamed that I went back to high school at Horizons, to get a stonger working knowledge of math and science. Then there was something about someone bringing me up on charges for attempted vehicular homicide, because I allegedly almost hit them with my car at 2am, the previous night. We were unable to determine whether I had actually done this, whether it was a dream, or whether I'd been sleep driving, or something.

Night before last i dreamed that I was yelling at Daniel-Craig-as-James-Bond for shooting a dog. Two people were fighting over it, and his reasoning was that, if the dog was dead, there was nothing to fight over. i yelled at him, saying that if he wanted to pass for a normal person, he would at least have to pretend to care about normal person things, like not just shooting someone's fucking dog, and how it was completely unacceptable.

Night before that, I dreamed that, whenever I looked into a mirror, I could see a pair of person-sized wings, on my back, made of living metal, and the form and colouration of raven wings.

Mmmyep.

Yesterday, [livejournal.com profile] lord_of_smoking sent a customer over from his work to ask me questions about Foucault, French Existentialism, and the Philosophy of Attention. That was a pretty interesting conversation. I told him after he was done with the French, and then the German Idealists, he should move on to Soto Zen. I think that'll be fruitful for him.

All in all? Great day, yesterday.

Need to make A LOT more in tips, today, so if I could, perhaps, make you a tasty beverage, and you could pay me for it, today would be a pretty great day for that. Thanks.

See you all later.

I had talked about it, quite a bit, and now you get to read it. I am of course talking about my piece on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles: "Strange Things Happen At The One Two Point".

I'm turning off the comments, here, because I hope you'll take the time to read and comment, there.

I'm really proud of this piece, and I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks, all.
