I believe I once said that something I love most about Caitlín R. Kiernan's writing is that she shows us that you can be both insane, and right; that Madness does not preclude the correct perception of events, and often aids it. And if I never said it, I'm saying it now.

Since I started reading this book, I've experienced some strange dreams which subsequently made themselves known in the context of the book. I've had more and more conversations about Carl Jung and Mircea Eliade, with strangers. And I will never be able to listen to Tom Waits' "Pony" the same way, again.

You need to read The Red Tree.

I needed to read The Red Tree.

Thank you, Caitlín. Thank you, very much.
