Saw my mother, this morning, due to a layover which turned into her flight getting cancelled, because, after everyone was on the plane, the pilot decided not to show up.

So, my mom bought me breakfast, and a full tank of gas.

Belly - [Sexy S]--- It was very good to see my mom, as an hour layover simply wasn't going to allow time for that to happen.

But now, I read comments, drink coffee, reply to comments, take lord_of_smoking to work, come back, and take naps.

And then! Coffee.

She's actually an old friend of mine to whom I haven't spoken in about 8 years, and I was really, REALLY surprised, when she messaged me, earlier, as I'd just been thinking about her, last week, some time. Synchronicity peeks out, around the corner, in a tentative manner.

Do you know what really rocks ass? When, even though you didn't get the job you wanted, graduate students still in the department call you for advice, and help in situations, because you've been there, and they trust your advice. That kind of thing always makes me feel super awesome.

That, and solving computer-related problems, like finding, installing, and making into functional materials printers that you didn't think existed.

A good night, over all, and a weird, long day.

Damn awesome, really, because a cousin sent me a check, for graduation, which means I get to write another thank you note...
