Veruca Salt - [Fly]--- [livejournal.com profile] mech_angel and I were wandering around The Mall, which was a convention, and we wanted some cinnamon and sugar pretzels, because they are delicious. We went to the place, and the power was off, and the guy behind the counter was a weasil, who kept not answering my questions, and pissing me off. Buying pretzels, here, was also setting up a bank account. I got fed up withthe guy, but knew that [livejournal.com profile] mech_angel would have to continue to deal with him, so i said "Fuck you, man," put on my headphones, and left them to it.

After that, I was walking down the street, feeling sullen, and down. (The Streets - [Let's Push Things Forward]). I really wanted to fly around the world, five or six times, to burn off some steam, but i needed to get home, for the potluck dinner, involving the whole world, and I knew that someone, along the way, might have needed help, because i was told as much, by them, and my mother. (Fiona Apple - [Carrion]). Every time i stopped to offer help, or to attempt to get something for people, they rejected me, and said they could get it themselves. One man had this look of defiant pride, in his eyes, which I understood, but which still hurt me. I kept holding myself back, saying that I'd do it, when I made sure that everything, at home, was set up.

I got to the house, with no time, left, for flying. It was my cousin Mike's house, and the people were inside watching movies. My mother showed me how to change the physical settings of the screen, in such a way as to make the aspect ratio change, by necessity. One of my cousins' kids, Jànae, was watchin television, and I started talking about how it was worthless, because she made an arbitrary disgttinction of worth, based on her personal preferences. not taking into abccount that worth varies, from person to persn. (Gorillaz - [Dracula]). As I was doing that, some PBS short came up, with some guy talking about a set of made up words. One of which, apparently, came from the "Vonneghut Sphere." They were just writing shit on his cue-cards, to get him to say it, and we could hear them laughing, off screen. There was something, in there, about Stargate, and having to save people from being improperly judged, after death.

I need to go get ready for class, now.

I'll see you ids later.

The Last Dance - [Somewhere More]--- School was ok. I got a B+, on my most recent CR. Something about lack of clarity. Then, in explaining my point, my words failed me. I couldn't put it together, and it still eludes me, to a point. I wrote a succinct statment. One sentence:

"Psychological harm is debatable, based upon factors of enculturation and arbitrary norms."

Meaning that the more the societal factors and norms are simply A way of doing things, and not an across-the-board genrealisation of "we don't do this because it harms us all." And even some of those can be refitted, with better education, with advances in technology. (Android Lust - [Sex And Mutilation]). My point is that the moral judgement of a thing can no longer be done in the form of a simple right or wrong, all the time, in all ways. Now, more than ever, we have, within us, an understanding of the nature of mittigating circumstances.

The trick is to not mittigate ourselves into a corner.

Read the Aeon Flux graphic novel, today. I've had the damned thing for a fucking decade. (Attrition - [Feed the Crow]). It's really intersting, especially because it's the introduction of Aeon Flux. The Herodotus File. It's good stuff and, with the advent of the movie, I'm sure they'll be reprinting it soon.

Later.

Look at the following list and:
1) Bold what is true about you.
2) Italicize what you wish was true about you.
3) Add one true thing about you to the end of the list.
4) Tag five LJ friends.

Watched "The Long Kiss Goodnight," with [livejournal.com profile] mech_angel, [livejournal.com profile] techiecl, and Kelly, tonight. I've come to the conclussion that the only truly bad thing about that movie is the little girl's acting.

My mother is re-writing our lease. That's very good of her.

I have to go be thankful. Back later.
