a long day...
Feb. 17th, 2002 04:24 amWent out to Eat Drink, and make a general mirthfulness, about me, this day. It worked well. ifeel pretty good. Except for the fact that the cops are looking for a friend of mine. K-Chan, give a call, dood.... Anyway, i'm pretty sure that i had somethingto talk about, here, but nothing from the evening is sticking out, in my mind. Hmm... here's something, though:
Music. What does it do to you? F'rinstance This song, "Happy," gives me Very disturbing mental images about places, underwater, where the geometry isn't quite right, and the walls ad floors and ceilings are all the same paths, and there's a Throne and.... yeah. That was the mental visualisation i got, the first tyme i ever listened to this song, alone, in a darkened room. It was strange. The other song in my head, "Blood, Milk and Sky," brings me images of red and cream and black Abyss, and slithering, flying, pulsing, winged creatures. Other songs make me see/feel different things.
"The Real Thing," by Faith No More, makes me feel extremely powerful. The lyrics, the cadence, the rhythm. The same goes for a lot of stuff by Tool. Varying songs and types of muusic have varying effects on us. Some makes us feel powerful, some makes us feel sad, or happy, or emotionally touched. Some CDs chronicle entire portions of our lives, and make us feel understood. Some CDs feel like someone looked into our souls, and found a way to make what they saw into music. It affects us, anyway you slice it.
Music is a tool and a power, unto itself. Use it as you will... Short post tonyte. Don't have anything to rant/complain about. Feel blessed. Good Nytes, Good Days. Dream Well
