Conceptual systems are created systems. We've talked about this, before. Here is a new analogy, for you:

Human conceptual systems as architectures of thought and idea are to the universe what a high school freshman groping in the back of a '94 Hoda Civic is to his date.

And, as Rebekah said, the universe is all like, "Is this... Is this supposed to be doing something for me? Have you ever done this before? Listen, just... Okay. No, it's okay. It happens to everybody; let's just talk."

Yep.

That analogy is particularly nice because it gives a clue to where the architect of the conceptual system is going wrong: He's not paying close enough attention to the needs of his...subject of interest.

A map is not the territory it represents, but to the extent it succeeds in representing accurately it can be useful.
